STS-31 Discovery, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 103, begins its roll maneuver after liftoff from Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Launch Complex (LC) Pad 39B at 12:33:51.0492 UT. This low-angle view of the launch shows OV-103 atop the external tank (ET) and flanked by two solid rocket boosters (SRBs) as it rises into the sky headed to Earth orbit. The space shuttle main engines (SSMEs), orbital maneuvering system (OMS) pods, and overhead windows W7 and W8 are clearly visible.
